Welcome and thank you for choosing Durham Caravans for your next Caravan or Motorhome purchase. We hope you have many exciting adventures and that we can help you along the way with our team of expert staff that also enjoy a little time away in our own tourers.

Please take the time to read through these T’s & C’s for your and our peace of mind.

Firstly and most importantly NONE of these terms & conditions affect and cannot exclude any of the purchaser's statutory rights as a consumer and further terms can be found online at www.durhamcaravans.com.

Choosing your product, Deposits & Pricing

We understand purchasing a new caravan or motorhome is a big decision and we would like for you to make sure you have made the correct choice before continuing. Durham Caravans will ask for a £500 non-refundable deposit on used caravans. Deposits will be refundable if you choose to use our finance options and this for whatever reason does not proceed due to no fault of your own.

Deposits on New vehicles will differ from used vehicles and will be made clear to you beforehand, these will also not be refundable.

New Vehicles can go up in price due to economic pricing structures and this will be passed on to the customer however you will be made aware of any price increases as soon as they become apparent to us. 

Collection & preparation of used caravans

All  Caravans will come with a PDI (pre-delivery inspection ) that will include the gas and an electrical test. Any faults will be rectified at our cost before handover and if we are unable to rectify any faults to our satisfaction then we will offer you a full refund including the deposit. 

Durham caravans will try our best to have used vehicles ready in 14 days from the deposit and you will be asked to make a collection date by a member of the sales team on or before the 14 days period. If we cannot have the caravan ready due to a fault and not due to added extras we will give you the choice of a full refund.

Part exchanges (PX)

Please be aware that the purchase of your new caravan or motorhome will not be and is not finalised until the PX has been appraised by us at Durham Caravans. If you have any outstanding loan agreements on the PX please let the salesperson be aware of this as soon as possible and also an up-to-date settlement figure.

Your collection day & arrival

Firstly please feel free to have a hot drink free of charge.

Please remember your number plate if you have not already made arrangements.

Don't forget your towing mirrors, We do sell towing mirrors in our shop but they may not fit your vehicle. 

You may require an adapter for the towbar electrics, we sell these in the shop if required.

Make sure all of your agreed parts are in the caravan or motorhome as this may be difficult to rectify after your collection.

Hitching up your caravan will be the owner-driver's responsibility however we can guide you through the process if you need help. Please note it's the driver's responsibility to check your wheel nuts. Handovers are limited to 30 minutes.

What is and is not included in the sale

If you are purchasing a used caravan or motorhome any non-standard factory-fitted fixtures or fittings will be included in the warranty, for example, motor movers and solar panels are not standard-fitted items. Please ask your sales rep if you need any more information on your chosen vehicle if you are unsure.

Keys may be in multitude however there may only be one key for the locks and could have different keys for other doors and lockers throughout the vehicle. 

Getting to know your caravan or motorhome

Whether you are new to touring or an experienced enthusiast you may experience difficulties with your new purchase that may be no fault of your own but in some cases, it may also be a user error. It is likely you will have a warranty on your purchase and if you have any queries please don't hesitate to call or email us (0191 3830142- [email protected] ). If you do have a warranty you will have some information given to you on handover.
